The W.M. Keck Center for Cellular Imaging (KCCI) and the Advanced Microscopy Facility (AMF) are pleased to announce a one-day symposium, followed by an Open House at both facilities. The symposium on Thursday, November 29, 2012, will take place at Jordan Hall 1014, registration at 8:30 AM and presentations starting from 9 AM. The Open House will take place the following day, Friday, November 30, from 9 AM to 4 PM at each facility.
The one-day symposium will showcase the capabilities of microscopy imaging at UVA - both in the form of lectures and posters - and how a very diverse user group has advanced its scientific objectives with different microscopy techniques. Attendees may be surprised by the breadth of applications and will have an opportunity to interact with experts in the field of advanced microscopy, and discuss their own projects. Each symposium participant will be offered a voucher for 3 hours of imaging and consultation without charge, to be utilized within the next 6 months.
The Open House will essentially be in a show-and-tell format, demonstrating the capabilities of widefield, confocal, spectral, TEM, SEM, 2-photon, fluorescence lifetime, FRET, FRAP, fluorescence correlation, and TIRF microscopy. Current users will be at the instruments and share their knowledge with you.
Regards from all of us at KCCI and AMF.
