Conventional Epifluorescence Microscopy

  • Olympus (IX-70) Infinity corrected inverted microscope with four output ports.
  • Microinjection device - Eppendorf; Temperature controlled and perfusion chambers to maintain the viability of the cells/tissue (Bioptech, 1 unit; Medical Systems Corp., 2 units).
  • Motorized x-, y-, and z-axis system.
  • Dage MTI color camera and 3-chip cooled Hamamatsu color camera
  • Slow scan CCD with a back-thinned, back-illuminated imaging chip for luminescence and fluroescence imaging (Cryo CH360, Photometrics).
  • PXL Photometrics CCD camera (1024x1035, 10bit, 2MHz readout)
  • Orca-2 (1280x1024, 12/14bit, 10MHz or 1.25MHz readout, ROI selectable) dual scan cooled digital Interline Hamamatsu CCD Camera.
  • Linux based Inovision software for image acquisition and analysis
  • Silicon Graphics based Applied Precision DeltaVision software (installed in Silicon Graphics Indigo2 R10000) for digital deconvolution microscopy and three-dimensional reconstruction
